Pair Pearlware Staffordshire couple with cockerel figures
pre-Victorian, circa 1820. Tallest is 4.5ins high, 1.7ins wide, 1.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire pearlware figures with a pastoral theme which feature a couple each holding a cockerel/rooster, stood on a square base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside.
Book reference not found.
CONDITION: Male: Good. No restoration. Two small chip to lower base edge.
Some small flakes to base.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to his right ankle.
Female: Fair. Small flake to upper base edge.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to base (still visible).
Reglued and joins retouched to her waist and at her feet.
