Rare Staffordshire spaniel seated on cushion base

Victorian, circa 1860. 8.3ins high, 6.9ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a spaniel, seated on a cushion base. Russet and white version.





Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the underside. Maker's marks painted to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Some rubbing to gilt.





KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the front right leg;



shrinkage line to the front left leg;



craze lines to spaniel's body.









RESTORATION: Filled chip to tail.



Retouching to pink base and eyes.
