pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 4.5ins high, 4.5ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Staffordshire pearlware pastille burner
which features a cottage with a thatched roof and twin chimneys, perched on a circular base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent holes to the underside and roof.
Maker's marks to the underside.
CONDITION: Roof: Generally good. Slight wear to base rim.
RESTORATION: One chimney reglued and join retouched.
Filled chips to other chimney, roof and dormer windows.
Retouched flakes to roof and dormer windows.
Stabilised and retouched cracks.
Cottage: Good. A few small flakes to top of base.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to interior;
small firing holes to base.
RESTORATION. Small filled chips to rim and porch roof.
