Pair Staffordshire spaniel & pup on cushion inkwell
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 3.1ins high, 3.9ins wide, 3ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire porcellaneous inkwells which feature a spaniel and her pup, recumbent on a cushion base.
Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Maker's marks to the underside.

Condition
Right facing: Good. No restoration. Small flake to base foot.
A few paint losses to spaniel.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to spaniel's tail and hind leg;
touch mark to reverse of base.
Left facing: Good. Abrasions to two of the base feet.
Rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to underside of of base and one also to spaniel's hind left leg.
RESTORATION: filled chips to base and one to puppy's tail.
