Pair Staffordshire No.2 black & white spaniels

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 9.8ins high, 5.9ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base. Black and white version. Dull gilt collar and locket.









Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.



Maker's marks no.2 molded into the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good. No restoration. Minor paint losses to muzzle.



Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the base edge;



craze lines to the reverse.



Left facing: Good. No restoration. Small chip to base edge between front paws.



A few paint losses to paws.





Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse.
