Pair Staffordshire spaniels with hare inkwells
Victorian, circa 1860. 3.5ins high, 4.5ins wide, 2.9ins depth. Staffordshire inkwell which features a spaniel with hare, recumbent on a rococo base.
Dull gilt embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Book reference not found.

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.
Some paint losses to the hare.
Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.
KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze.
Left facing: Generally good.
Some paint losses to the hare.
Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.
KILN EFFECTS: small shrinkage crack to spaniel's tail;
flecks of stray coloured glaze;
a speck of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the spaniel's body.
RESTORATION: both front paws remodelled.
