Pair Staffordshire children on horseback figures
Victorian, circa 1870. Tallest is 9.3ins high, 7.3ins wide, 3.3ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire figures with a childhood theme which feature children sat on horses, stood on a shaped base.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the reverse.
Book reference not found.
Right facing: Good. Slight rubbing to gilt.
Slight wear to his hat.
RESTORATION. Right foot reglued and join retouched.
Filled chip to horse's left ear.
Retouched paint losses to muzzle, hooves and left foot.
Left facing: Generally good. A few paint losses to the reverse.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline running from her lap, over left wrist on to the reverse and on to the horse's face.
Retouched paint losses to horse's ears, muzzle, hooves, her hair and shoes.
