Pair Staffordshire poodles with bird figures
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 6.1ins high, 4.5ins wide, 2.4ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a poodle with a dead game bird, stood on a cobalt blue base.
Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Condition
Right facing: Generally good. Small flake to front of base.
A few paint losses to the poodle's face.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: uneven glaze application to the cobalt base;
a few flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse.
RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched hairline to front and hind right legs.
Stabilised and retouched cracks to reverse and underside of base.
Section of tail remodelled.
Left facing: Generally good. Small flake to bird's head and reverse of poodle's head.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to cobalt base.
RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched hairline to front and hind left legs.
Nose tip and tail have been remodelled.
