Brown Westhead Moore & Co Majolica terriers and boot vase

Victorian, circa 1870. 6.3ins high, 6.3ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Brown Westhead Moore & Co Majolica vase which features two terriers playing with a ball, around a boot, resting on a cushion base.

Colouration: ochre, cobalt blue, white, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Brown Westhead Moore & Co pottery. Bears a pattern number, '25'.


CONDITION: Good. Small flake to right front paw and to tail.

Some small flakes to boot.

KILN EFFECTS: small firing holes to ground and boot;

thin glaze application to the dogs;

Slight staining to the top of the boot.

RESTORATION. Remodelled tip of tail on one dog.

Retouched flakes to ears on other dog.
