Majolica Ivy wedge-shaped cheese keeper

Victorian, circa 1880. 7.9ins high, 12.3ins wide, 11.6ins depth. Majolica cheese keep which features ivy and flowers. Brown ground version.

Colouration: brown, green, cobalt blue, are predominant.

CONDITION: Cover: Very good. No restoration. KILN EFFECTS: firing hole to apex of triangle wedge.

Base: Good. No restoration. Short, tight hairline to rim.

KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to the corner;

notable crazing;

small firing pits to border;

fleck of stray coloured glaze to the interior.
