Holdcroft Majolica blackberry teapot
Victorian, circa 1877. 5.3ins high, 7.1ins wide, 4.5ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica teapot which features blackberries to the finial. Blossoming branches to the sides. Colouration: brown, green, turquoise, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Holdcroft pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 29/??/1877.

Cover: Good.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage line to the inner rim.
RESTORATION: Filled and retouched flakes to the rim,
one leaf,
one blackberry
and to the underside of the rim.
Teapot: Good.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze misses to the green and brown glazes to the exterior;
a piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the top;
glaze run to the green glazes.
RESTORATION: Filled and retouched chips to the spout,
two of the leaves
and the inner rim.
