Majolica Palissy frog, blackberry & shell vase
Victorian, circa 1890. 6.1ins high, 5.5ins wide, 4.9ins depth. French Palissy Majolica vase which features blackberry leaves and fruits, two frogs and shells.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.

Condition
CONDITION: Fair.
Small chip to one frog's leg and mouth.
Some small flakes to frogs and blackberries.
KILN EFFECTS: one blackberry has fallen off in the manufacture process;
a speck of kiln grit caught in the glaze to one shell;
over glazed chip one frog's mouth.
RESTORATION: retouched flakes to rim,
frog's mouth,
flowers and leaves;
stabilised and retouched cracks to the base.
