Parr Staffordshire 'John the Baptist and the lamb of God' figure
Victorian, circa 1860. 7.5ins high, 3.1ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Parr Factory Staffordshire figure with a religious theme which features John the Baptist and the lamb of God (symbolising Christ), stood on a shaped base. Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the underside.

Generally good.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the base;
over glazed shrinkage lines to his right leg.
RESTORATION: David's head,
right hand
and sheep reglued and joins retouched:
Sheep's right front leg remodelled.
