Pair Staffordshire Sailor&Soldier double sided figures
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 9.8ins high, 3.5ins wide, 3ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire double sided figures with a military & maritime theme which feature an English sailor and French soldier, stood circular bases base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent holes to the underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Paint losses to soldier's right shoe and hair and sailor's hair, eyes, tie, shoes and anchor.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: touch marks to the flag;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the sailor.
Left facing: Good. No restoration. Small flake to soldier's hat and flag.
Some paint losses to flag, soldier's shoes, moustache and hair and sailors hair, anchor and shoes.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to the sailor's hat;
shrinkage lines to the sailor's hat and to the side of the anchor.
