Majolica tassled cushion spittoon

Victorian, circa 1880. 3ins high, 7.9ins wide, 7.9ins depth. Majolica spittoon which features a circular buttoned cushion with tassels.





Colouration: brown, ochre, lilac, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. A few small flakes to the brown glaze and tassles.











Wear and scratches to the high points of the molding from use.







KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the side;









uneven glaze application to the cushion;







flecks of stray coloured glaze to the top.
