Minton Majolica bird & insects dish
Victorian, circa 1877. 5.7ins high, 9.2ins wide, 6.5ins depth. Minton Majolica dish which features a bird, insects and flowers.
Colouration: turquoise, cobalt blue, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '1803'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1877.

Condition
CONDITION: Very good.
Small chip to one petal.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to the stems of the flowers;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the interior.
RESTORATION: Remodelled tip of insect's mouth
and retouched flakes to both wings.
Filled chip to bird's right wing.
Retouched flakes to ribbon
and bird's beak.
