Majolica birds with nest in tree vase

Victorian, circa 1870. 7.5ins high, 4.7ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Majolica vase which features a bird nest in a tree with two birds.





Colouration: green, ochre, brown, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Small tight hairline to the underside of the base.



Some small flakes to one of the branches and both bird's tails.







KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the base edge;





tiny glaze pops to the exterior and underside;









notable crazing and staining to the interior.





RESTORATION: One bird's head and left wings of both birds remodelled.







Retouched flake to right wing of lower bird.
