Minton Majolica cobalt blue ground passion flower garden seat

Victorian, circa 1864. 18.1ins high, 14.2ins wide, 14.2ins depth. Minton Majolica garden seat which features passion flowers and Prince of Wales feathers.





Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: green, ochre, cobalt blue, are predominant.









The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '982'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1864.

CONDITION: Generally good. Scratches from use.







KILN EFFECTS: small firing pits to the exterior.





RESTORATION. Filled chip to foot, stabilised and retouched hairline next to foot.





Stabilised and retouched crack running from the bottom 3/4 of the way up.





Filled chip to one foot.



Remodelled missing petals.
