Majolica Sunflower butter dish

Victorian, circa 1870. 4.3ins high, 7.5ins wide, 7.5ins depth. Majolica butter dish which features a large sunflower.



Colouration: brown, ochre, lilac, are predominant.

Some wear to the finial.



KILN EFFECTS: kiln grit caught in the glaze to the exterior.









RESTORATION: Two stabilised and retouched hairlines to the rim.









Dish: Generally good.

Some wear to the exterior.





KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to lilac glaze;









a few specks of kiln soot caught in the glaze to the well of the dish.
