Mafra Majolica Palissy bull toothpick holder

Victorian, circa 1890. 6.7ins high, 6.1ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Mafra Majolica toothpick holder which features a bull.



Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.







The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

CONDITION: Generally good.

Flake to bull's right nostril.



KILN EFFECT: glaze pops to the bull.







RESTORATION: Tail reglued and join retouched.





Remodelled horns and tip of right ear.









Retouched flakes to base edge.
