Minton Hughes Protat Majolica banana leaf garden seat

Victorian, circa 1878. 19.7ins high, 13.8ins wide, 13.8ins depth.









Mintons Majolica garden seat which features banana leaves tied to the body. H.P. (Hughes Protat) molded in oriental text to the top. Colouration: green, ochre, brown, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the Mintons pottery. Bears a pattern number, '9111'.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1878.

CONDITION: Good. Some small flakes to feet.





Scratches from use.











Wear to the seat.






KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the green glaze.





RESTORATION. One foot reglued.





Filled chips to the pink on leaves and feet.
