George jones Majolica strawberry dish & spoon

Victorian, circa 1882. 6.7ins high, 13.6ins wide, 10.2ins depth. George Jones Majolica strawberry server and spoon which features pond lilies and flowers.







Colouration: green, brown, white, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 11/04/1882.

Condition

CONDITION: Server Good. KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to handle;





notable crazing;





a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the interior;





shrinkage crack to the base of one end of handle.



RESTORATION. Two petals remodelled.





Retouched flake to rim.



Spoon: Generally good. Staining from use.



RESTORATION. Two sections of handle reglued and joins retouched.
