Brownfield Majolica Peasant woman figure

Victorian, circa 1880. 12.2ins high, 5ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Brownfield Majolica vase which features a peasant woman carrying a large wicker basket on her back.



Colouration: green, ochre, puce, are predominant.









The piece bears maker's marks for the Brownfield pottery. Bears a pattern number, '2014'.



Book reference not found.

Condition

Good. Very slight wear to her right hand.



KILN EFFECTS: craze lines to the interior of basket;



glaze misses to the interior of the basket;



glaze run to the green glaze;







glaze accumulation to her chin;



flecks of stray coloured glaze to the base.



RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.
