Pair Staffordshire russet & white spaniels

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 5.5ins high, 5.5ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated on a shaped base.
Russet and white version. Dull gilt base line.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.











Vent hole to the underside. Maker's marks to the underside of one.

Condition

Right facing: Good.

Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the top of the right front leg;



a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the front and reverse;







two small glaze pops to the dog's face.



RESTORATION. Retouching to base rim,



flowers



and dogs markings.







Left facing: Good. Tiny flake to dog's face just above right eyebrow.



Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the top of the right front leg.
