Large Staffordshire Blacksmith figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 16.75ins high. Large Staffordshire figure of a blacksmith standing on oval base. One hand rests on his hip, the other on an anvil by his side. In front of the anvil are tools, and on the ground below are two horse shoes. Dull gilt decoration and base line.





Vent hole to reverse.

Good. No hairlines. No chips.

Slight rubbing to nose.



Kiln effects: shrinkage crack along mold join to sleeves;





firing pit to right elbow;



overall crazing.

Retouched flakes to his hair





and boots.
