George Jones Majolica cow cheese dome & stand

Victorian, circa 1880. 8.7ins high, 12.2ins wide, 12.2ins depth. George Jones Majolica cheese keep which features an overlapping leaf border and cow finial. White ground version. Colouration: green, white, ochre, are predominant.













The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery.

Cover: Generally good. Some small flakes to rim.









Tight hairline to rim.



RESTORATION: Remodelled cows horns.





Three stabilised and retouched hairlines to interior.







Stand: Generally good. No restoration. Slight staining from use.



Some wear and flakes to 3 rims.















KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior with associated flakes;





notable crazing.
