Mafra Majolica Palissy beetle figure

Victorian, circa 1890. 1.6ins high, 3.1ins wide, 7.3ins depth.

Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica figural which features a stag beetle. Colouration: brown, ochre, cream, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Small chip to tip of left horn.

Small flake to one of the ridges on beetle's head and one to the underside.

Slight wear to the end of the beetle's pincers.
