Minton Majolica squirrel nut dish

Victorian, circa 1869. 5.1ins high, 10ins wide, 7.5ins depth. Minton Majolica nut dish which features a squirrel holding a nut.



Colouration: green, brown, white, are predominant.













The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1522'. English diamond registration mark for the date 23/07/1869. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1869.

Condition

Good. Small flake to rim.



Slight wear to interior.



KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks around the nuts and squirrel's feet.



RESTORATION. Retouching to both ears.
