
pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 9.3ins high, 5.7ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Wood family Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bust with a musical theme which features the head and shoulders of the composer George Frideric Handel.
He is dressed in flowing robes and a tunic, wearing a full, curled powdered periwig characteristic of the period. Rests on a plinth base. The piece is titled, 'Handel'.
Enscribed number 80 to the underside.
Painted base line.
CONDITION: Good. Some wear/discolouration/kiln soot to the lower base edge.
Thin glaze/abrasion to his nose.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched cracks to base.
