
Victorian, circa 1876. 4.7ins high, 9.6ins wide, 7.3ins depth. George Jones Majolica dish with cover which features a three piece set, with a lid, dish and undertray. A lobster sits on the lid, with seaweed on a basketweave ground to the dish and undertray.
Colouration: pink, yellow, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '3378'. English diamond registration mark for the date 12/09/1876.
CONDITION: Generally Good. Kiln effects: thin glaze application and a few glaze misses to the lobsters tail.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to rim of lid.
Filled chip to head of lobster.
Stabilised and retouched crack to rim of the under-tray.
