Minton Majolica Boy and Dolphin Salt

Victorian, circa 1860. 7.8ins high, 5.1ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Minton Majolica salt which features a boy holding a shell, climbing over a dolphin.

Colouration: grey, cobalt blue, blue, are predominant.

This piece represents possibly an Infant Neptune and has been attributed to the designer, modeller and artist Henry James Townsend.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '187'.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. RESTORATION. Filled chips to end of tail fin.
