The sampler is worked in silk threads on a silk ground, in cross stitch throughout.
Meandering floral border.
Colours green, light brown, gold, silver and blue.
Signed and dated, 'M. Forrest 8 July in the year 1830'.

Framed in an old, possibly original, Hogarth frame with rippled, old glass.
Mounting: The sampler is fixed to card. Frame backed with paper and sealed with tape.
CONDITION: Good. A couple of holes.
A stain speck on the right hand side.
Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.
No colour run. Stretching is slightly uneven.
Fold lines vertically and horizontally across the middle.
Slight rippling to the ground in places.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
