Cunha Palissy Majolica Snake and Lizard Wall Plate

Victorian, circa 1890. 3.5ins high, 9.4ins wide, 9.4ins depth. Jose A Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a snake attacking a lizard.

Insects around the outside of the plate include a grub, a worm, a butterfly and a beetle.

Colouration: green, grey, brown, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Jose A Cunha pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. RESTORATION. Filled chip to beetles leg tips.

A few retouched flakes.
