Minton Majolica Cupids Oval Jardiniere

Victorian, circa 1872. 7.9ins high, 17.3ins wide, 11.8ins depth. Minton Majolica jardinière with a mythological theme which features cartouches to either side containing pictorial scenes.

One scene has a couple on a bed with cupids at either end.

The other with cupids and plants.

The jardiniere has leaf handles at either end.

Minton blue ground version. Colouration: blue, green, yellow, are predominant.

Bears a pattern number, '1087'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Wear to the interior from use.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to on handle.

Stabilised and retouched hairline base.
