Rare George Jones Majolica Muffin Dish with Snake Handle

Victorian, circa 1874. 4.3ins high, 7.7ins wide, 7.7ins depth. George Jones Majolica muffin dish and cover which features a snake forming the handle.

Stiff leaves decorating the borders.

Turquoise ground version.

Colouration: green, turquoise, grey, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery.

CONDITION: Very Good. No restoration.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze misses to the inside of the cover.
