Victorian, circa 1864. 26ins high, 14.6ins wide, 14.6ins depth. Minton Majolica fountain which features two putti on a rocky outcrop amongst bullrushes.
One is sat, holding a fishing net.
The other holds a large fish or dolphin over his shoulder. The mouth of the dolphin forms the water spout.
Colouration: beige, green, blue, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '911'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1864.
An example of this piece was shown at the International Exhibition in London, 1862.
CONDITION: Very Good. No restoration. A couple of patches of light staining from use.
Small coloured-in chip to one leaf.
