
Victorian, circa 1872. 13.6ins high, 10.6ins wide, 9.9ins depth. Wedgwood Majolica cheese keep which features a country scene around the outside, depicting cows, farmers and a maid milking.
The top features a cow finial.
Colouration: blue, green, white, are predominant. The piece bears maker's marks for the Wedgwood pottery.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.
CONDITION: Cover: Good. RESTORATION. Repairs to horns, ears and nose of the cow finial.
Kiln effect: Kiln soot and some speckling in the glaze to the cow.
Base: Generally Good. Slight wear to the centre.
Some wear to sides. KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to the lower base rim.
Glaze pop to the side.
Glaze pop to the centre.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched horizontal crack to the rim.
