Pair of Jerome Massier Hen & Rooster Vases

Edwardian, circa 1910. Tallest is 13.6ins high, 9.1ins wide, 6.9ins depth. Pair of Jerome Massier French Majolica figural vases which feature a pair of chickens - a cockerel and a hen, stood in front of wheatsheaf receptacles.

Colouration: yellow, teal blue, dark maroon, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Jerome Massier pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Male: Good. Abrasion to a tail feather.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to reverse on vase rim.

Filled chip to tail feather.

Female: Good. KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to the vase rim on the reverse.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to base.

Retouched flakes to tail.

Filled chip to vase rim.
