Rare George Jones Majolica Rabbit Nut Dish

Victorian, circa 1869. 3.5ins high, 13.2ins wide, 8.7ins depth. George Jones Majolica nut dish which features a rabbit handle to the centre.

The four sectioned dish embellished with maple leaves, fern fronds and other foliage.

Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.

Bears a pattern number, '2554'. English diamond registration mark for the date 22/12/1869.


CONDITION: Good. KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to the rim in places, leaving the underlying pottery visible.

RESTORATION. Small stabilised and retouched hairline to the rim.

Retouched flake to one dish.

Small filled chip to rabbit ears.
