Art Nouveau WMF Claret Jug with Green Glass Liner

Circa 1910. 16.5ins high, 7.5ins wide, 6.9ins deep. WMF green glass claret jug of typical art nouveau stylised form.

The bottom mount depictis a maiden's head with a flower in her hair. The hair flows around the piece creating a winding pattern.

The upper mount has floral motifs. The finial modelled with grapes.

The lid is operated via a hinge and a thumb piece.

Impressed maker's marks to reverse of one foot 'WMF', 'EP' (electroplated), 'I/O' (normal thickness of plating/gilding), and 'as' (antique silver finish).

Etched mark, 'HPR A6202', which is probably an identifying mark made by a previous owner.

Condition

CONDITION: Very Good. Glass undamaged. The metal in good condition with plating intact. Hinged lid in good working order.
