Pair Georgian Woolwork Embroidered Pictures of Girls with Pets

Georgian, circa 1820. 12.2ins high, 15.6ins wide, 1.4ins deep. Pair of Georgian woolwork embroidered pictures of girls with their pets.

 

Both are worked in wool threads on a silk ground, in a variety of stitches.

With the girls' heads and arms hand-drawn and coloured in.

One of the pair features a girl holding a basket with doves in, her cat jumping up at her side.

The other features a girl feeding her rabbit.

Colours blue, pink, brown, orange, gold, red, white and grey.

Both framed in matching antique wooden frames with glass.

Frames backed with board and sealed with tape.

CONDITION: Girl with doves: Good. A few tiny holes.

Small splits to one area on the ground.

Patches of light staining to the ground, which blend in well as they look like clouds in the sky.

Girl with rabbit: Good. A few tiny holes.

Small splits to one area on the ground.

Patches of light staining to the ground.

Small debris under glass.
