Victorian, circa 1860. 8.7ins high, 11.4ins wide, 0.8ins deep. Antique embroidered picture of a pair of birds.
The embroidery is worked in silk and a cotton-like thread on a linen ground.
Colours greens, gold, blue, silver and brown.
The picture depicts two birds perched amongst trees and two butterflies.
Framed in an old burr maple frame with glass.
Mounting: The embroidery is fixed to board. Frame backed with wood and sealed with tape.
CONDITION: Good. No holes. A couple of very light patchy stains.
No stitch losses. Colours are mostly good and strong. No colour run. Stretching is even.
Frame showing minor wear, but is sound and ready to hang.
