
Circa 1880. 2ins high, 13.2ins wide, 10.4ins depth. Joseph Landais French Palissy Majolica wall platter which features a pike, various other fish and an eel.
Blue decorative border around edges. Colouration: cream, blue, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Joseph Landais pottery.
CONDITION: Very Good. No restoration.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the blue border;
shrinkage crack to pike's tail;
shrinkage crack around well of dish, only present on front;
some roughly potted patches around the rim.
