George Jones Majolica Yellow Basket (Rare)

Victorian, circa 1875. 7.5ins high, 12.5ins wide, 11.6ins depth. George Jones Majolica basket which features yellow woven basket sides and a branch handle.

Embellished all over with strawberry leaves, flowers and fruit.

Colouration: turquoise, yellow, green, are predominant.

Bears a pattern number, '5276'.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Patches of limescale around the inside rim of the basket, causing slight discolouration and a dulling of the glaze.

KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application and bubbles to ribbons on the handle;

two shrinkage lines to one of the side basket rims.
