A wonderful set of motifs, including a well dressed female figure holding a rope,
a stag,
dogs,
flowers, potted flowering plants,
fir trees,
birds and lions.
Framed in a 20thC Hogarth frame with glass.
Mounting: The sampler is loose mounted onto a linen backing. Frame backed with card and sealed with tape.
CONDITION: Generally Good. A number of holes, masked by the linen backing.
Slight darkening of the ground in the top left corner.
No stitch losses.
A loose thread, by one plant pot.
Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.
No colour run.
Neatly and evenly stretched.
Frame showing some wear, but is structurally sound and in our opinion could be hung 'as is'.
