
Circa 1890. 6.7ins high, 6.7ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Jose A Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica plate which features a crab and shellfish on green shredded clay ground.
Colouration: green, red, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Jose A Cunha pottery.
CONDITION: Good.
Some small flakes to shredded green clay and edge of shell.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the claw and crab.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to shell and shredded green clay to rim.
