Victorian, circa 1890. 7.1ins high, 11ins wide, 6.7ins depth. Unidentified French Majolica posy basket which features colourful birds, nesting amongst a grape vine.
Colouration: pink, green, ochre, are predominant.
CONDITION: Generally Good.
Two grape stalks chipped off, joins retouched.
A few small flakes to the edges.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze;
Overglazed shrinkage crack to beneath both birds;
glaze misses to the vine.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to top bird wing tip.
