Minton Majolica Game Pie Dish with Gun dog

Victorian, circa 1868. 8.7ins high, 14.6ins wide, 7.9ins depth. Minton Majolica game pie dish with liner which features a hunting dog asleep next to a gun, a powder flask and a game bag.

Colouration: cream, green, blue, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '964'.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1868.


CONDITION: Cover: Very good. No restoration.

KILN EFFECTS: faint shrinkage line to top of dog's tail.

Dish: Good. KILN EFFECTS: areas of thin glaze application to the interior.

RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to rim.

Filled chip to rim.

Liner: Very Good: No Restoration.
