The embroidery is worked in silks on silk ground, in a variety of stitches.
Colours green, cream, blue, copper, pink, brown and black.
Framed in an old, elaborately decorated wood frame, with rippled old glass.
Mounting: The sampler is fixed to board. Frame backed with brown paper.
Scene depicts an applique of a bird of paradise perched in a tree.
CONDITION: Good. No holes.
No stains other than slight uniform age darkening of the ground.
Some loose debris under the glass.
Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.
No colour run.
Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
