The embroidery is worked in silk and chenille wool on a silk ground, in a variety of stitches.
Colours greens, gold, pink, copper and black.
The picture depicts two birds perched in a berry tree.
Framed in an old maple frame with glass. Mounting: The embroidery is fixed to linen. Frame backed with wood.
CONDITION: Generally Good. Some splits to the ground.
No stains.
No stitch losses.
Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.
No colour run.
Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame showing some wear, but is structurally sound and in our opinion could be hung 'as is'.
